Utah Elk Hunts: Guided Elk Hunting Trips
Utah offers elk hunters some of the finest trophy bull elk hunting available anywhere. Come and bugle rutting bulls for the ultimate trophy elk hunting experience. Elk numbers are at an all time high in many areas with some of the highest bull to cow ratios found anywhere in the world. Utah manages their elk herds carefully which has resulted in a high percentage of mature bulls and better quality hunting than nearly any other state can offer.
Elk Hunting Licenses and Hunter EdUtah Bull Elk limited-entry applications must be applied for Feb 1st thru March 1st . General season tags are available over the counter June 17th until sold out. Hunters need Hunter Ed if born after Jan 1, 1965.
Utah Elk Hunting Areas and SeasonsHunting areas are located throughout central and northern Utah. Most hunt areas are only a 2 to 3 hour drive from Salt Lake City. Bow hunting opens in August with rifle and muzzleloader hunts open until November.
Accommodation ChoicesMotel Town Hunts: Stay at a comfortable motel in town. Elite will pick up & return hunter daily. Your room and restaurant meals are not included so remember to budget for these expenses.
Mountain Lodge: Enjoy indoor lodging in the mountains with cooked meals in the dining room, warm indoor bathrooms, and cozy bedrooms. It’s only minutes to many hunting areas.
Expected Temperature & Weather During Hunting SeasonEarly fall may have frosty nights but the days often warm up to 50 or 70 degrees. Late fall temps often range from 0 to 50 degrees and snow is possible. Check current weather forecasts with the Weather Link on this website. Utah highways melt off quickly after a storm and travel is usually not hampered for long. Bring insulated boots, gloves, thermal underwear, and plenty of warm clothing suitable for snowy conditions.

Travel and ItineraryIf you fly into the Salt Lake City rent a car, it’s only about a 2 to 3 hour drive depending on which hunt area you choose. Arrive the evening before your hunt begins.
