Utah Elk Hunts: Guided Elk Hunting Trips
Utah offers elk hunters some of the finest trophy bull elk hunting available anywhere. Come and bugle rutting bulls for the ultimate trophy elk hunting experience. Elk numbers are at an all time high in many areas with some of the highest bull to cow ratios found anywhere in the world. Utah manages their elk herds carefully which has resulted in a high percentage of mature bulls and better quality hunting than nearly any other state can offer.
Elk Hunting Licenses and Hunter Ed
Utah Bull Elk limited-entry applications must be applied for January and February. General season tags are available over the counter June until sold out. Hunters need Hunter education card if born after Dec 31, 1965.
Utah Elk Hunting Areas and Seasons
Hunting areas are located throughout southern, central and northern Utah. Most hunt areas are only a 2 to 3 hour drive from Salt Lake City. Bow hunting opens in August with rifle in September & October and muzzleloader in November.
Motel Town Hunts: Stay at a comfortable motel in town. We will pick up & return hunter daily. Meals and motel room are included.
Mountain Lodge: Enjoy indoor lodging in the mountains with warm indoor bathrooms, and cozy bedrooms. Meals and lodging are included.
Tent Camp: The camp is usually accessed by truck and includes tents, camp gear, cots, portable toilet, kitchen area, water, and meals.
Expected Temperature & Weather During Hunting Season
Early fall may have frosty nights but the days often warm up to 50 or 70 degrees. Late fall temps often range from 0 to 50 degrees and snow is possible. Check current weather forecasts with the Weather Link on this website. Utah highways melt off quickly after a storm and travel is usually not hampered for long. Bring insulated boots, gloves, thermal underwear, and plenty of warm clothing suitable for snowy conditions.
What's Not Included
Your personal gear, sleeping bag, meat processing and shipping, taxidermy, licenses, gratuities, and any other items not listed as being included.
Travel and Itinerary
If you fly into the Salt Lake City rent a car, it’s only about a 2 to 3 hour drive depending on which hunt area you choose. Arrive the evening before your hunt begins.
